Hyderabad Biryani

            Best Biryani Places in Hyderabad

Hyderabad and Biryani have a relationship like a body and a soul. Whoever comes to Hyderabad have two wishes for sure.

  • Visiting Charminar
  • Taste Hyderabadi Biryani

All other things are secondary, in this article we will cover some of the amazing biryani joints in Hyderabad which are truly amazing and you won’t regret for sure after visiting this places.

10. Bawarchi

Bawarchi

There are around 100 of Bawarchi outlets in Hyderabad but the original one is in Nallakunta, RTC X road with the perfect disclaimer “We don’t have any branches”. This place is always full and will have to wait a lot but that waiting time is worth for biryani which they serve along with Mirch ka salan. Absolutely amazing in taste and will cost around 700 for 2. Even at Zomato they have 4.3 rating and very rarely there is any bad feedback for this place (Except one guy who had veg biryani from this legendary place LOL).

Parking is not an issue over here and this place is open almost till 12’o clock midnight even though officially it closes at 11:30PM. Service is quick and needs to be because this place is always full as I told but still much cleaner. Vegetarians don’t need to feel bad because they have good option over here. Mutton & Chicken Biryani is highly recommended.

TAG LINE – “We have no Branches”.  Don’t confuse with Green Bawarchi and many other Bawarchis all over Hyderabad

Zomato Rating: 4.3/5

Timings: 11:30 AM – 11:30 PM

9. Prince Hotel

Prince

Prince is a total surprise package. Even if you visit at 12’o clock in midnight normal weekdays, when all other biryani joints are closed this place will still be opened in Mehedipatnam and will be completely jam-packed. Ambiance and Hygiene is completely missing here or you can say they don’t have any relationship with that name that’s why I am telling this initially so that everyone should be aware, but boy they serve amazing Chicken Biryani. One of the best in Hyderabad and really cheap. In 260 bucks 3 hungry people can be feed such a humungous quantity they have in one plate, Taste is super amazing and chicken pieces will be so tender and juicy that you won’t be able to stop yourself, simply the best.

That was the only reason this place featured in Hidden gems group of Zomato. Dum ka Murgh & Tandoori chicken is another specialty for this place which must be tried.Parking is a big issue so better to visit on 2 wheelers and avoid 4 wheelers. Average cost will be 400 for 2, super cheap among all other places. If you are visiting in a big group then go for underground seating as they don’t have big tables for more than 4 on ground floor. Irani chai is also awesome here so after biryani must try Irani chai (save some space in your stomach).

Disclaimer: Go for take away if you have real hygiene issue and if you are dining there please carry your own tissues.

Zomato Rating: 3.7/5

Timings: 5:00 AM – 11:00 PM

8. Paradise

Paradise

Biryani in Hyderabad means paradise for many people. I remember when I came to Hyderabad everyone who visited Hyderabad earlier told me to visit Golkonda fort, Hussain sagar and Paradise. you can figure it out how big name and reputation they have. Paradise have multiple outlets not only in Hyderabad but also in other cities but still the best biryani with royal treatment is served at Secunderabad also known as main branch (Mother of all other outlets). rest all of them are not up to the mark.

Now many of you are thinking why this place is at 8 and others are thinking that now they don’t deserve to be in top 10. There is only one reason behind it and i.e. they are lacking consistency now. Mostly Biryani here will be super amazing but some day it will be a super flop, only because they have created a very high standard for themselves and anything below standard is not excepted. Try any biryani at this spot all are good even gravies item are cooked nicely and very tasty, surprisingly they serve great veg biryani too (There is nothing like Veg biryani, its simple Pulav LOL). Open till 11’o clock but better to visit early in evening to taste there starters as they get over very fast. Parking is not an issue at this place.

Zomato Rating: 4.1/5(secunderabad paradise), Avg of all branches is 3.7/5

Timings: 11:00/11:30 AM – 11:00 PM

7. 4 Seasons

4 seasons

4 Seasons have multiple outlets in Hyderabad but Tolichowki is the oldest and the most reliable one among all. Paradise for all the mutton biryani lovers. This place serves one of the best mutton biryani hands down. Mutton pieces are really soft and tender whereas in chicken biryani they somehow miss this trick but Mutton is one of the best in Hyderabad. They serve amazing kebabs (not better than Siddique kebab center which is right next to this place) and fish items too.

This place is located in Heart of food hub Yusof tekri complex, tolichowki. Open till 12’o clock at night and parking is not an issue, they have ample of space in the complex. Ambiance and hospitality is decent but price is on higher side as compared to all other places but worth for their mutton Biryani. Chicken biryani lovers can skip this place as magic is missing from there chicken one.

Zomato Rating: 3.1-3.7/5 (all Branches)

Timings: 12:00/12:30 AM – 11:00 PM/12:00 PM (Film Nagar branch)

6. Meridian Café & Restaurant

Meridian

Meridian cafe is located right in the center of Panjagutta crossing and is one of the best biryani joint in Hyderabad, all the foodie lovers must visit this place for their Chicken & Mutton Biryani. Since the time I have visited this place I am a regular customer and surprisingly they didn’t ever disappointed me till now. They also serve amazing tandoori chicken as well as grilled chicken. Ambiance is not that good, they have steel bench on first floor an family section on second floor so better don’t expect much in terms of ambiance but taste is super awesome, just go for their lip smacking biryani’s.

Pricing is decent and will cost approx. 600 for two people so 100% value for money.  They are open till 11’o clock at night and better to visit on bikes as they don’t have much area for parking. Most important thing to be noted is, they take only cash and no extra onions (LOL).

Zomato Rating: 3.9/5

Timings: 12:30 AM – 11:00 PM

5. Grand Hotel

Grand

Grand hotel is one of the legendry outlet in Hyderabad and open till late night. It also featured in Best biryani and legendary outlet groups on Zomato. Grand Hotel is in Abids and located right on road. Even if you are visiting this place around 12’o clock at night don’t expect it to be quiet, this place is fully crowded till the time it is opened. Starters will get finished if it is too late still you can have chicken Biryani. Chicken Pieces are cooked so amazingly well and there will be no excess oil both in Biryani or Mirch ka salan. It is one of the lightest and the best one, as per quantity they serve biryani can make 2 people full in 200 bucks. Shocked!!! It happens only in Hyderabad.

Grand Hotel’s kebabs are amazing too. If you want to taste there kebabs you need to go early as they get finish very fast. Parking is a big issue as this place is right in the Centre of Abids and always crowded. So parking is at your risk, don’t expect much from the ambiance as these are very old restaurant so go for only their delicacies.

Zomato Rating: 3.9/5

Timings: 6:00 AM – 2:00 AM

4. Chicha’s

Chicha's

One day I was searching some new place and I found Chicha’s in hidden gems list of Zomato, with some great feedbacks and rating was 4.0 too, without delaying further I reached to this place with my another foodie friend and my god such an amazing biryani I had. Spice level, meat cooking, presentation everything was perfect, I remember I was not in a very good mood on that day but the food changed it all. Chicken Biryani was not only awesome but mirchi ka salan and raita which was served was awesome too.

Chicha’s is not only known for biryani but they also serve Talawa gosht and Pathar ka gosht which are simply amazing. This is one of the place which serve Haleem every Friday all over year. Pricing is decent and will cost around 800 for two people and is full value of money. This place is open till late night 2’o clock and one can opt for open seating space or can go to dining section inside. Service and hospitality is top notch. Chicha’s justify their tagline “Daba Ke khao Miya” because once you are started it is hard stop.

Zomato Rating: 4.0/5

Timings: 12:00 PM-2:00 AM

3. Hotel Shadab

Shadab

Hotel Shadab is one of the oldest and most trusted Biryani outlet in Hyderabad. This one is situated in Ghansi bazar near Charminar. Mutton Biryani is absolutely amazing at this place. Chicken Biryani is my favorite served with two big chicken pieces and cooked with perfection, there are many Biryani places in Hyderabad which also give big pieces but are bland or mostly raw but here it is completely cooked and wrapped up in masala perfectly.

Tangdi Kebab and Haleem are also most popular dishes from Shadab whereas Haleem is only available in Ramadan time but all other items are available till late night all over the year. Green chutney (dipping) which they serve with Kebabs is super amazing and one can finish that alone. This place is open till 2’o clock at night and provide complete value for your money. Average cost for 2 will be approx. 900 but the only concern is the parking. This road is really busy and no place for parking so I will recommend to visit this place via public transport.

Zomato Rating: 4.2/5

Timings: 5:00 AM – 2:00 AM

2. Sarvi Restaurant

Sarvi

Sarvi is another big player in Hyderabadi biryani and I bet you are not going to regret. Chicken & Mutton Biryani’s both are just amazing and cooked to perfection. Even if someone is not in the mood of having rice with the aroma of biryani he will get tempted and will have it. I was there with my friends in which one was vegetarian and the time biryani came on our table he was in complete awe of the aroma but unlucky. They don’t have really big pieces instead moderate size and very juicy. Juje kebab is one of their other specialty and vegetarians will love Paneer items specially Paneer Achari tikka as I told you about my vegetarian friend, he loved veg items too.

During Ramadan they serve lip-smacking Haleem which is one of the best in Hyderabad but sadly only in Ramadan season. Pricing is decent, will cost around 800 for 2 people approx. and ambiance is good too, it’s like a fine dining and one of the few places were non veg and veg both are good. Sarvi is open till 11’o clock. Parking is an issue here specially for 4 wheelers.

Zomato Rating: 4.0

Timings: 12:00PM-4:30PM and 7:00PM-11:30PM

1. Cafe Bahar

Bawarchi

Another legendary outlet in terms of biryani’s. Double chicken masala biryani is amazing as well as mutton biryani, they also serve one of the best fish biryani in town. In their special chicken biryani they serve it with one boiled egg (which is quite regular in almost many of the biryani places in Hyderabad) & 3 pieces of chicken tikka. This place is one of the most favorite place for all the big foodies in Hyderabad, Café Bahar is quite consistent in taste. They serve one of the best butter chicken which I had till date in Hyderabad and Haleem during Ramzan, Bheja fry is another delicacy which must be tried here. Service is really quick but staff is somehow little rude but when food is good no one bothers it at all (excluding hyper people).

This place is always full and will be a big waiting queue in family section, if you can stand and have it ground floor will be the option for you. Café bahar is open till midnight and parking is not an issue here as they have separate plot right in front of the hotel only for parking purpose. Family dining section is on 1st floor, ground floor as told is mostly for quick bites and take away. Will cost 700-750 for 2 easily but will be full vale for your money.

Cafe Bahar has no Branches. Don’t confuse Cafe Bahar with Bahar Cafe which has Many Branches all over Hyderabad

Zomato Rating: 4.2

Timings: 11:00 AM – 1:00 AM(Midnight)

As a Conclusion

This is the top 10 best biryani places in Hyderabad. Few people might differ from this as taste wise everyone have different opinion. Some like double masala, some like spicy and list goes on. So, it totally depend on one’s taste and liking. Many other places which are great but not able to get in this list are Shah ghouse, Biryani’s, Pista house, Alpha, Alhamdulillah, Mandar. Above list is purely based on Biryani’s and careful examination during multiple visits. So, if you don’t visit these places till now, just go and enjoy because you are not in Hyderabad if you don’t like biryani.
